Atlante delle cose nuove

Cover Art: Oisin Orlandi Published by: Indiana Edizioni Art Direction Limited Edition: Giulia Dolci

L’Atlante delle cose nuove (The Atlas Of New Things) published by Indiana Editore, is a book I wrote in 2015.

The book tries to describe the complexity of the modern world through 48 words, analyzing their meaning and how it has changed in recent times. Analysing these words through the gaze of modern technology, music and video, the book aims to offer a new type of handbook, merging past and future.

J Dilla and Ennio Flaiano, Malcom Gladwell and Skrillex, Jon Savage and 2Pac, Luciano Bianciardi and Kanye West, David Carr and Spike Jonze are among the main characters in a series of essays that start in the present and explore hypotheses of the future, without ever becoming too serious.

L’Atlante delle cose nuove is also an online project as each of the 48 words is paired with original illustrations by some of Italy’s most brilliant graphic designers and illustrators. The website led to a second illustrated limited edition of the book, with alternative art direction, sold exclusively online.
